SMS Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: August 30, 2026

These SMS Text Messaging Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) apply to text
messages sent by Treadwell Counseling, PLLC (“Treadwell,”
“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. SMS Program

Treadwell may use text messaging to communicate with clients and prospective
clients about matters such as:

  • Appointment reminders and confirmations;
  • Scheduling and rescheduling;
  • Administrative communications;
  • Responses to inquiries; and
  • Other practice-related information.

Message frequency varies depending on your interactions with Treadwell.

Treadwell’s SMS program is intended for practice-related communications.
We do not use this SMS program to send advertising or promotional
text messages.

2. Potential Fees for SMS Messaging

Message and data rates may apply.

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier
and service plan. You are responsible for any charges imposed by your
wireless carrier in connection with receiving or sending text messages.

3. Consent to Receive Text Messages

By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opting in to
receive text messages, you consent to receive SMS messages from Treadwell
at the number provided.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing
services or receiving counseling or other services from Treadwell.

You may withdraw your consent to receive text messages at any time as
described below.

Message and data rates may apply.

4. No Sale of Mobile Information

Treadwell does not sell or rent your mobile telephone number or SMS
consent information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate and
deliver our SMS program, as necessary to provide the service and subject
to applicable privacy and confidentiality obligations.

SMS consent information will not be shared with third parties for their
own marketing purposes.

5. How to Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from Treadwell Counseling through
an affirmative consent process, which may include:

  • Verbally, during a conversation with Treadwell;
  • By completing an online or electronic form; or
  • Through another affirmative consent method offered by Treadwell.

When applicable, the opt-in process will provide information about the
types of messages you may receive, message frequency, and how to opt out.

6. How to Opt Out

Reply STOP
You may stop receiving SMS messages by replying STOP
to a Treadwell text message.

Other commonly recognized opt-out words include QUIT, END,
REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL,
or UNSUBSCRIBE.

You may also contact Treadwell directly to request that SMS communications
be discontinued.

After receiving an opt-out request, Treadwell will stop sending applicable
SMS messages as required by applicable law and the requirements of our
messaging service.

If you opt out of SMS messages, you may still receive communications from
Treadwell through other methods that you have authorized or that are
otherwise permitted.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

Text messaging is intended primarily for convenient administrative and
practice-related communication.

Please do not send highly sensitive, confidential, or detailed
mental-health information by ordinary text message.

Text messages may be visible on your device, accessible through your
wireless carrier or messaging service, or viewed by someone who has
access to your phone or device.

Treadwell cannot guarantee that ordinary text messaging is completely
secure or confidential.

9. No Emergency Communications

Text messaging is not an emergency or crisis service.

Treadwell’s SMS service is not continuously monitored and should not be
used for emergencies or crisis situations.

If you are experiencing an emergency or believe you or someone else is
in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest
emergency department.

For mental-health crisis support in the United States, call or text
988.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect
changes in our SMS program, technology, services, or applicable legal
requirements.

Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
