Mental performance coaching addresses any of the obstacles one might face when they are working on peak performance for sports, music, and other high performance jobs and pursuits. As a mental performance coach, I am able to work in-person or virtually with clients in any state. Together we will look at the things that drive you to perform, what helps you focus and attend to your performance, what might be impacting your performance, and how you can optimize your performance. Some of the areas that we might focus on include:

- attention
- focus
- motivation
- self-talk
- goal setting
- perfectionism
- performance anxiety
- addressing slumps
- dealing with injuries
- improving self-care
- and any other obstacles that might impact your ability to perform at your best
My athletic background includes 4 years of varsity women’s ice hockey at Dartmouth College, where I was part of 2 Ivy League championship teams. I was a part of Team Southeast in1997 when we won the USA Hockey Women’s Senior National Championship. My coaching background includes 10 years as a college ice hockey coach, including 8 years as an NCAA Division III women’s head coach and 1 year as a coach for an ACHA Division I men’s ice hockey team. I have also coached at the high school and AAA level for several years, including 5 years with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite. The Pens Elite teams that I coached qualified for the USA Hockey national championships in each of those 5 years.
My education into coaching began in a master’s program in exercise science and nutrition at Colorado State University from 2000-2002. As an NCAA coach, I was lucky enough to attend the NCAA Women Coaches Academy in 2005. I have been a USA Hockey Master Level coach since 2004, and I was a part of USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program, where I taught coaches the ins and outs of effective coaching strategies, for 7 years. I have also spent several years as a private hockey instructor and strength coach, and was a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) for 18 years.
I am currently a member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), and the American Psychological Association, Division 47. I am in the process of pursuing my certification as a mental performance consultant (CMPC) through AASP.
